Founder of Rescue4All and Marketing Director for The Mortgage Firm Lakeland
I have never been a “gym” girl but I have always been an outdoorsy person and love to mountain climb, paddle board and I hike with my dogs.
As far as being consistent with exercise goes…well, for the last few years I haven’t done much of anything. I was eating what I wanted to and had a lot of fun getting to my heaviest weight of 172 pounds; but at 5-foot-2 my tastebuds were overjoyed my self-esteem suffered and in January I just decided to try FGF and it’s been life changing.
I had heard about FGF and on January 8th of this year…I tried it and I LOVED it! My first class I came with a friend that wanted to try it too and she loved it! I knew after that first class that I was a FGF groupie for life and signed up for my membership of unlimited classes on my second class! It’s been four months and l love it even more now. I am stronger and addicted … my hands are jacked up … and I’m not done yet!
My biggest accomplishment so far is being able to deadlift 175 lbs!
My next performance goal is: Threefold: 1) to do pull ups without bands; 2) When I’m doing Turkish Get Ups … to not look like a drunk person struggling to stand during the ‘UP’ portion 3) To be able to do Double-Unders…my hand eye coordination is not my strong suit but apparently whipping myself is!
Being more active, seeing results, feeling stronger and others notice I’m getting more toned has helped immensely. I have more energy and because I feel better I’m actually eating better. My ultimate goal is just to feel good and be able to physically do what I want to. The workouts teach you how to use your body as an athlete and that has helped me to become more agile in real life too.
I’m a big fan of lifting and learning the lifts. Deadlifts, squats, bears…I find immense satisfaction of being able to lift heavy with form.
BURPEES!!! I swear whoever invented these personally hates me and Running…with my short legs I’m not built for speed but I do it only because of peer pressure
It’s empowering and awesome to know that when you walk in the door, from the trainers to the girls in the class, everyone is there to workout HARD! No matter what your size or ability everyone cheers you on to do your personal best. It’s awesome being in that kind of Girl Power!
I hold myself accountable for my health and am doing something to make my life better …it’s been a long time! When you take time for you to become better it’s life transforming.
I have two cats, three personal dogs and always have a foster dog or two as well. Last year I took a huge leap of faith and I started an animal rescue called Rescue4All and we are currently awaiting our 501c3 designation. I’m thrilled to say that from August 24th, 2013 to date we have saved 53 dogs/puppies from euthanasia and have gotten them adopted to their forever homes. Helping animals is my passion. I also work full-time from my home as the Marketing Director for The Mortgage Firm Lakeland which is a mortgage lender based out of Lakeland, Florida. I love my job because it allows me to be able to incorporate my love for graphic design, creation of marketing materials/campaigns, photography and social media management. In my spare time from all of that I also volunteer at the Spokane Humane Society. Never a dull moment.
For new members: Come and try it…it will change your life. I promise! For my fellow FGF girls: THANK YOU!
